Getting your oven, carpets and sofa Christmas-ready: a booking timeline

Every December the same thing happens: everyone wants the oven done in the week before Christmas. Here's a realistic timeline that gets the house guest-ready without the last-minute rush.

The timeline

  • October: book your dates. December slots fill first
  • Early to mid November: deep clean, if you want one, so the rest of the work starts from a clean base
  • Late November to early December: carpets and sofa together in one visit, so they dry at the same time
  • First two weeks of December: oven, hob and extractor, close enough to Christmas to stay clean for the big cook
  • Christmas week: last-minute availability is limited, so don't rely on it

Why carpets before the oven

Carpet and upholstery cleaning needs a few hours of drying and it's better done before the house is full. The oven is the opposite: do it too early and a month of normal cooking undoes it before Christmas Day.

Combine visits and save a trip

Carpets, a sofa and an oven can often be done on the same day. Send photos of each on WhatsApp and you'll get one fixed price for the whole job.

FAQs

How far ahead should I book a pre-Christmas oven clean?

Four to six weeks is sensible for early-to-mid December. The earlier you ask, the more choice of dates you'll have.

Will carpets be dry in time for guests?

Hot-water extraction usually dries in a few hours with windows open or heating on, so a morning clean is normally dry by evening.

Can you do the oven and carpets on the same day?

Often, yes. Send photos of both and we'll quote one fixed price.
